JessicasBeetle (148k image)
{{popup JessicasBeetle.jpg JessicasBeetle 510×340}}JessicasBeetle Jessica fell in love and purchased this one with the help of me, Ginny and Lou, James, and Brian !!!! It is so cute. Actually, we all seemed to have gotten the ” bug” fever. I kid you not, they are so fun and easy to drive. To save money, we had to shop around for 2 days. We finally went to our old reliable friend CARMAX and no hassles…Jessica saw him? her? (she hasn’t named it yet) we all feel in love with limey or carma, max? We got it even though she doesn’t know how to drive a manual, stick shift. Lou is going to teach her. James gave her several lessons in the church parking lot.
Aunt Doris is recovered from all her ordeal. lung biopsy and a stent in one of her coronary arteries. She is back exercising.
James is still doing amazing things with his carpentry skills and still going to school at Gwinnett Tech. James’ Mom is doing well and still taking chemo.
Dad is still in Canada visiting our friend, Fran Dixon.
Brian is doing well in his job, and Jodi is taking a week off and going with him to Nashville this week.
Joel goes to Greensboro, NC Aug. 12th. to UNCG.
Kevin spent last week here with me, it was good to she him. He is so sweet. Kevin is moving to Atlanta in Sept. and hopefully will watch my doggies sept 9th-19 since I AM GOING TO SPECTACULAR SPAIN!!!
Jackie had a great party last night in front of the jazz band Bony James. We had a front row table with 12 people and lots of food, and candles sitting out under the stars and listening to this great band til 11pm. It was great.
Jimmy is still trying to stop smoking(he started smoking after quitting for 12 years). He is going to look for a new job.
My job is the same, never enough help. However, I like everyone at work and I guess that most people don’t find that. Everyone works hard and I especially have my track that I work with, Lisa is back from New York, Shamsa is gone to Pakistan. Martha is still with me and we are still off and on with the south Beach or low carb diet.
Pat is thinking about leaving his rat race job and teaching at some University someday. Below it is obvious I still need to exercise and diet until I have face lift, etc. Joel looks like an FBI agent or a model, Kevin ? maybe a model or dancer.scan0002 (1675k image)

The tomatoes are looking like they are all coming in at once.
Joel got hit from behind so hard on the way to school that he was pushed into another car. The car may be considered totalled. Poor Joel. He says he didn’t get hurt. Isn’t that great. Joel graduates from high school June 11!!!!!
Kevin has a new truck.
Brian and Jodi put speakers in my kitchen for mother’s day. Here is a picture of that. They are cool!

may 20th

May 20th, 2004

May 20 was always a great day. No matter what I always sent my little sister lots of stuff for her birthday. She loved presents. Here is to you little Sally !!! We all adored you. You are missed so much by me (us) that it aches. I am doing what you said and smiling and ‘being happy, and not crying’ but it took me a while. There are so many cute clothes now, and ….actually nothing else. You atleast got to live to be in love, and enjoy life, and be a great sister and great Aunt. You also gave me a terrific friend. Sally would be 41 today! Happy Memories!
Thank you journal for giving me someone to talk about my sister!

Dieting and coffee.

May 14th, 2004

So, I started the South Beach Diet! I know, it doesn’t work, it cost a lot, and it is Atkins! Yeah, but anyhow! I had eggs for breakfast, coffee, with non- diary, and sweet and low, I had low- fat cheese for a break, and lots of water. For lunch a large salad with romaine, tomatoes, onions, and pepper. With it a sugar free dressing. More bottled water, working in the yard, and a sugar free pop-sickle. Then for supper I had grilled Talipia, steamed broccolli, water. Then I had a dessert later, it was low fat Ricotta cheese mixed with artifical sweetner and a dash of vanilla flavoring (chilled). I think the trick is I am so full, that I don’t snack. ( and making the little dessert for yourself helps).
I couldn’t be on a diet that didn’t include coffee.coffeemaker (19k image)

Once my family sent me to a spa, and I pick a super-vegan one. No sugar, no oils, flour, meat, caffeine. The next day, I had such a headache, and was panicing to find a coke or something, I went next door to another place, and another, I finally found a swanky hotel, and ordered a coke at the bar, that they said was closed ( no one needs the bar in the morning) They must have seen I needed a coke, however, too late…I tried to make it to the bathroom, but vomited in everything along the way. Remember those fancy tall cigarette sand or gravel things. I think they had drawn something in them. I think you just pick the butts out like kitty litter. But, they probably had to have new sand… The water fountain, the bathroom fianlly! It was when aids was big news, and was in Ft. Lauderdale! So, they staff was freaking out and wanted to know my name and send me to the hospital or something. But, I just disappeared as I had come in. I was fine, and went the doctor at the spa. He was happy, ” You detoxed so fast! The next day I got up before breakfast and the sun, and went for 2 cups of coffee. I loved that spa, and went again once, but brought decaf coffee packages.I have been drinking coffee since I was a little girl. My Mom and friends would have in in a pretty little cup with a saucer. coffeeSteam (7k image)

Happy Mothers Day!!!!!!

May 8th, 2004

Happy Mothers Day! It is a lot of work, but it is my life. Ever since those little cute things were born.My brother, Jimmy lost our Mom young too, and he really missed out on a lot in life. I feel like his Mom too. I wish I was a better Mom sometimes. I will keep trying! Women are lucky, they get to be Moms, Mommies, mama’s. I love my boys. Here is a picture of my Mom. Quida Harper Studstill. She was very feminine, the best cook ever, always cooking for others. She stopped being a stay at home Mother at age 40 and went to school, graduating top in her class, and worked as an LPN at Central State Hospital. I didn’t like her working there. She worked with develop-mentally disabiled babies. It was depressing, and she brought it home. She was a perfectionist, and a clean addict. She was very cuddly though. She hardly ever bought anything for herself, except she made every meal a big deal. She was the center of our life. I remember not wanting to go on a date til after dinner. She was like a magnet for all of us. She died when I took her to the E.D. of a small, crummy hopital. My sister and I took her, and she died at the age of 44. As I look back, she was probably manic depressive. I love her and so did many people. Most families fall apart with the Mother dies…Ours fell off the functional globe. Happy Mother’s Day, MOM!MOM (25k image)

">Dad’s BirthdaybirthdayTweety (69k image)

May 5th, 2004

May 6> 2004 is Dad’s Birthday! Dad, Jimmy, and I just got back from South–middle Georgia. We visited relatives, my Mom’s gravesite, and ate out a lot!
Here is a picture of the house my Dad grew up in. Also a picture of his Aunt Margaret, who is just 4 years older, and was like a sister to him. Hearing some of the stories, I realized that life was “ROUGH” for boys, men. When they played baseball, if they couldn’t get someone out they would signal head, and they would throw the ball at the persons head and knock him out. They worked in the fields 16 hrs a day when it was the season. No wonder guys have trouble with their ” feminine side” they weren’t allowed any. They used to walk a lot back then, Margaret said ” sure, I would walk a mile and a half to ask my Mom if I could spend the night with someone, then walk back to tell them.”

Happy Birthday to Charles Clayton Studstill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
