Good People

September 15th, 2006

Of course I got interested in Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter because of my name, Roselyn. Also, we lived in Parrott Ga. close to Plains. Jimmy was the President, and my brothers name is Jimmy. But, mostly knowing what humble people they are and how they enjoy helping other people. Rosalynn was such a care taker. They really seem to be happy now, doing great works. Rosalynn says she can use her fame to get people to focus on needs of others. When you have time, watch this. It is really good in the end when she shows you about African women and the simple change they taught them to prevent eye infections.  Here is the link: http://www.atlantaandcompany.com/article.aspx?storyid=70776

My friends and family like Martha

August 24th, 2006

They like her because I get inspired and then cook. Here is a EASY recipe.

I did not use a whole can of old bay- just maybe 1/2 cup. Also, I just got the butcher to give me a bag of their shrimp-without the heads. It was frozen, 2lbs.. That is what they use. This recipe with cocktail sauce is great!

One  6-ounce can Old Bay Seasoning

1  tablespoon dried thyme

1  teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

2  bay leaves

1  lemon, cut crosswise into 1/4-inch-thick slices

2  large onions, cut crosswise into 1/4-inch-thick slices

5  pounds medium shrimp with heads, rinsed

  1.   Fill a 20-quart pot three-quarters full with cold water; add spice mix, thyme, chili pepper flakes, lemon, and onions. Bring water to a rapid boil over high heat.

  2.   Using tongs, carefully add shrimp to pot, and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, until shrimp are opaque and shells are pink, about 7 to 10 minutes. Remove shrimp using a slotted spoon or strainer. Serve hot.

BrianJodiWeddingIt was so beautiful I started crying! But is was so overwhelming getting to see so many wonderful people and relatives, and my favorite neices and nephews, that I was spacey.

My Dad did a wonderful job.

It was a beautiful day.

I did not take one picture, but will have some soon. My great friend Jackie Goodman, brought some to my house.

Brian and Jodi are getting married!

April 10th, 2006

We wondered when…and then suddenly we have less than 3 months notice! They are precious though. If everyone shows up, that says they are, it will be great!

We all love Jodi. My Dad says she has always seemed like a daughter. Brian and Jodi met at Ga Tech. She is an architect. If you haven’t seen her talents you can see them on Brian’s Web page –or mine if I ever figure this new web page and add all my pictures.

The best part for me is I get Jodi and new relatives. So far the ones we have met we are keeping! Jodi’s Mom and Grandmother are awesome friends! I needed them.

Happy Birthday to my wonderful son! He has taught me so much in life! He taught me to love the computer! Pat and I enjoyed him so much as a baby then a boy. He has grown up to be a wonderful son and friend. ! He always seems to love life, and seemed to learn so quickly, like he had been alive before. I get a lot of attention from him, he is a “good one”. I have lots of pictures of Brian. Here is one taken 2 nights ago with his brother, Kevin.
